Petal Cascade III
Acrylic & Pencil on Linen
I thought of these as paintings as âwindows that look into a color-filled world that swirls, floats, sways, and breathes with constant motion. They reflect the way I observe the quiet rhythms and subtle pulse I see all around me.â
A cross-country move from Chicago to NW Arkansas in 2008 drastically changed my perspective and viewpoint. The shift from life in the city to living closely to the natural environment allowed me to observe the natural landscape up close â and experience its life-cycles and seasons on a personal level.
The organic shapes that floated quietly on white grounds were my interpretations of what I was observing in my new environment.
This series was created between 2009-2013.
